Connect the flow restrictor to a high pressure air supply using the #4 Female JIC swivel connection. The flow restrictor reduces pressure from 6000 psi (414 bar) to 120 psi (8 bar) and then restricts input flow to the sensor. Based upon flow restrictor input pressure, sensor input flow rate range is 1-3 L/min. Flow restrictors for INT ("yoke"), SCBA, and DIN valves are also available.
Flow restrictors optimize compressed gas flow for accurate gas analyzer sampling by reducing gas flow rates to ≤5 L/min from high-pressure regulators. Exposing gas sensors to pressure may cause damage and/or false readings. Damaged sensors will not provide accurate gas analysis. Most gas analyzers can be used to analyze a regulated gas sample flow, the contents of a gas cylinder, or the flow from a regulator. The flow rate of gas must equal 1-5 L/min. A faulty Flow Restrictor can lead to a false analyzer reading. Flow Restrictors should be regularly tested with a Flow Meter. Inaccurate gas analysis can lead to serious personal injury or death.
